Genius PyroBubbles® Pure M Extinguishing granules, bag 12.5 kg

PyroBubbles® are a new type of extinguishing agent based on silicon dioxide. Silicon dioxide is also used in the manufacture of glass. The extinguishing granulate can exert its extinguishing effect excellently when conventional extinguishing agents such as water are no longer effective or would cause major damage. PyroBubbles® are an excellent filling material for transport and storage containers from Genius. The filling material is used in containers from the Lio Guard series. Please note: Active battery firefighting with Pyrobubbles requires a special fire protection concept.
The granulate is supplied in bags. In this version, the extinguishing agent is in bags of 12.5 kg each in the quality grade Pure M. In Pure M, recycled glass is used in the production process. The sack has external dimensions of 770 x 420 x 130 mm.

Properties of PyroBubbles®

PyroBubbles® Pure M are suitable for flammable substances of fire class D. The average particle size is 2 to 6 mm. The extinguishing agent is water-repellent and age-resistant. Depending on the application, some of the PyroBubbles can be collected and reused after use. In addition, the extinguishing agent is able to absorb electrolytes and is characterized by low thermal conductivity and is electrically insulating. Please note that PyroBubbles® of the Pure M quality grade may only be used as bulk material during transportation in the Genius transport containers approved for this purpose as filling material for lithium-ion batteries.

Extinguishing effect of PyroBubbles®

PyroBubbles® Pure M are temperature-resistant up to a temperature of approx. 700°C. In the event of a fire, the granules melt and form a closed and thermally insulating layer around the source of the fire, removing the oxygen. Combustible reaction gases are reduced thanks to the pores in the spheres. The high specific heat capacity absorbs heat energy and the temperature is reduced thanks to the cooling effect. Furthermore, combustible material is shielded by the low thermal conductivity. PyroBubbles® are also suitable for extinguishing metal fires.
