Genius PyroBubbles® cushion Pure M extinguishing granulate

PyroBubbles® are a new type of extinguishing agent based on silicon dioxide. Silicon dioxide is also used in the manufacture of glass. The extinguishing granulate can exert its extinguishing effect excellently when conventional extinguishing agents such as water are no longer effective or would cause major damage. PyroBubbles® are an excellent filling material for transport and storage containers from Genius. These filling cushions are used in containers from the Lio Guard series.
The granulate is supplied in bags. In this version, 50 small PE cushions measuring 225x145x20 mm with a filling quantity of 0.22 kg (0.70 liters) are supplied PyroBubbles® are produced in two quality levels: Pure M and Premium: For Pure M, proportions of recycled glass are also used in production.

Properties of PyroBubbles®

PyroBubbles® Pure M are suitable for flammable substances of fire class D. The average particle size is 2 to 6 mm. The extinguishing agent is water-repellent and age-resistant. Depending on the application, some of the PyroBubbles can be collected and reused after use. In addition, the extinguishing agent is able to absorb electrolytes and is characterized by low thermal conductivity and electrical insulation.

Extinguishing effect of PyroBubbles®

PyroBubbles® Pure M are temperature-resistant up to a temperature of approx. 700°C. In the event of a fire, the granules melt and form a closed and thermally insulating layer around the source of the fire, removing the oxygen. Combustible reaction gases are reduced thanks to the pores in the spheres. The high specific heat capacity absorbs heat energy and the temperature is reduced thanks to the cooling effect. Furthermore, combustible material is shielded by the low thermal conductivity. PyroBubbles® are also suitable for extinguishing metal fires.
