Extinguishing fires with lithium-ion batteries is still a major challenge. This gel extinguisher from BAVARIA, the Magnum Water Glue, was developed to contain fires with smaller batteries. The GlueX extinguishing gel is primarily used in recycling companies and the plastics processing industry.
The extinguisher is available in three different versions. This is the smallest version with six liters of extinguishing agent. This enables a spraying time of approx. 26 seconds at a spraying range of 6 m. The bottle has external dimensions of 280x165x575 mm.

Properties of the extinguisher

The extinguishing agent can be used in a temperature range from +5°C to +60°C. Interruption of the extinguishing jet and intermittent use via the extinguishing gun is possible at any time.

The polyester coating of the container and the internal polymer coating provide excellent corrosion protection.

Use on electrical systems up to 1000 volts is possible with a minimum distance of one meter.

As all variants of the Magnum series from BAVARIA are identical in design, the number of spare parts to be kept in stock is considerably reduced.

Extinguishing effect of Water Glue

The extinguishing agent can be used for A-fires and especially for lithium-ion batteries. In addition to the cooling effect of the gel, it also has a strong preventative effect. The gel also adheres very well to smooth, vertical surfaces. On the one hand, the high heat capacity enables good heat extraction and oxygen exclusion. The GlueX layers can also protect the affected objects from heat radiation or ignition. Please note that the containment of fires involving larger battery packs (electric vehicles, PV storage units, forklift trucks, etc.) with this extinguishing agent is not recommended.
