The BAUER shelving container with a storage chamber is a well-thought-out, practice-proven solution for the safe, structured and legally compliant storage of lithium-ion batteries and battery systems.
Thanks to its integrated shelving solution, this container is especially suitable for applications where a clear, space-saving and orderly storage structure is required.
Equipped with a general building supervisory approval from the German Institute for Building Technology (DIBt), Approval No. Z 38.5 103, the shelving container meets the highest requirements for fire protection, static, environment, and occupational safety. The robust steel construction, the integrated catch basin, and the plant technical fire protection equipment make it a reliable storage solution for industrial use indoors and outdoors. The container forms an independent fire compartment.

Construction & equipment
The BAUER shelving container impresses with a durable, industrial construction and high-quality materials:
- Stable, welded frame construction for high load capacity and long service life
- Complete cladding of all surfaces with double-skin, thermally insulated steel sandwich panels (Non-combustible, construction material class A2 s1 d0 according to DIN EN 13501-1)
- 100 mm thick insulation layer for reliable fire protection
- Lockable double-leaf door (with expanding Rokustrip seals for additional protection in case of fire)
- One-sided operability for safe and comfortable loading and unloading
- Edge protection profiles on all corners to increase operational safety
Storage & safety
The integrated shelf structure enables efficient space utilization while maintaining high load capacity:
- 3 storage levels
- Floor + 2 height-adjustable levels
- With grid shelf supports and ejector protections
- Shelf field width: approx. 2,700 mm
- Maximum rack load: 2,000 kg per storage level
- Catchment volume: 600 liters up to the bottom edge of the grid
- Tray wall thickness: 5 mm, incl. leak test with factory test certificate
- 100 mm high feet, prepared for on-site floor anchoring
- Crane eyelets for safe and easy movement
- Integrated splash guard
Electrical & Fire protection
For fire monitoring and alerting the shelving container is standard equipped with:
- 1 heat detector (not explosion protected)
- Functioning contact for external alarm forwarding
- Combined alarm device (strobe light / buzzer)
- Note:
- When forwarding the fault message to a fire alarm control panel (BMZ) with fire brigade connection, a separate compatible fire detector is required on-site.
- Distribution cabinet (IP65) with:
- Main switch
- Cabinet heater
- Row terminal blocks for heat detectors
- Surge protection
Grounding & protective measures
- Structural equipotential bonding to protect against electrostatic charging
- External grounding connection including measurement protocol (on-site grounding required)
