The battery storage cabinet is suitable for storing smaller lithium-ion batteries up to 100 Wh per battery.
Size, structure and function of the storage cabinet
The PROline 12/20 battery storage cabinet has 4 storage levels and a total weight of 450 kg. The external dimensions of the cabinet are 60 x 120 x 195 cm (L x W x H). The internal dimensions are 49 x 105 x 166 cm (L x W x H).
Numerous safety features
The lockable door with 2-point locking system locks automatically when the cabinet is closed. In addition, the cabinet is able to close automatically in the event of a fire. An integrated vent for exhaust pipes is provided.
The built-in vent allows for proper connection to an exhaust pipe leading to the outside. The battery storage cabinet can be moved for positioning and evacuation in an emergency thanks to its height-adjustable feet and removable skirting board. The standard smoke detector emits an acoustic signal in the event of a fire.
Possible uses of the PROline 12/20 battery storage cabinet
The double-walled steel cabinet serves as a protective measure for new low-power lithium batteries (<100 Wh) from power tools or garden tools, for example.
Other (safety) information
Warning stickers and safety instructions are included in the scope of delivery. The PROline 12/20 battery storage cabinet has been tested in a battery fire test with power tool batteries. The body of the PROline 12/20 battery storage cabinet is powder-coated in light grey (RAL 7035) and the door in light red-orange (RAL 2008).
General guidelines for battery storage
There are currently no legal regulations governing the storage of lithium batteries/lithium-ion batteries. Only VdS Schadenverhütung GmbH provides general safety rules for damage prevention in its publication VdS 3103 : 2019-06 (03). It is advisable to clarify your requirements with your property insurer in advance.

The fire protection panels installed in the cabinets contain gypsum, which contains a lot of water, which expands when frozen. This deforms the panels. It can no longer be guaranteed that such a cabinet is still sealed or can withstand an explosion.
If you already have a suitable room that is structurally fire-resistant, then you do not necessarily need a safety cabinet to contain the fire.
However, please do not forget that the damage caused by a battery fire involves immense and also toxic contamination, the disposal of which can quickly lead to high costs.
In addition, you may not be able to continue working as usual until the damage has been finally repaired - depending on the location of the damage.
