Suitable filling material for the battery storage container
The appropriate filling material is required to use the PRIOPACK battery storage container. If you do not have any filling material, please order the version "Incl. 2 x Priopack filling material, 8 pieces each". You can find additional filling material in the Accessories tab.
In buildings and storage facilities where lithium-ion batteries are stored, damaged cells can pose a high risk to employees and to operating and storage equipment. Explosive fires caused by batteries ("thermal runaway") are difficult to control.
Please note that this system is not a dangerous goods packaging for the transport of defective cells within the meaning of SV 376 of the ADR. This container is intended for storage.
Size, structure and function of the storage container
The PRIOPACK storage container is available in two versions. This smaller version has external dimensions of 400 x 300 x 233 mm and internal dimensions of 307 x 208 x 164 mm (length x width x height). It weighs 8 kg. The container is grey in colour.
90 minutes fire resistance
The storage container is made of plastic and lined with fire-resistant building boards on the inside, enabling it to remain stable for 90 minutes in the event of a fire.
Sturdy lid
The lid can be securely closed with a hinged lid and snap lock. It will not open even in the event of a fire.
With vermiculite cushions: an additional safety feature
Vermiculite filler packs must be ordered separately for this container. We recommend 2 to 3 packs per box. Vermiculite is non-flammable and further insulates the heat energy.

Filling material packets for filling the PRIOPACK storage container for lithium-ion batteries. The packets are filled with the layered silicate vermiculite, which is suitable for use in sound and heat insulation as well as for fire protection. External dimensions: approx. 180 x 150 mm. Total weight per packaging unit (1 PU=8 pieces): 520 g (approx. 65 g per piece). Depending on the size of the batteries used, 2 to 3 PUs per storage box are recommended.
