1. Kurzüberblick 

The ecell-guard Carport system is a mobile, modular fire protection solution for safe quarantine and monitoring of high-voltage (HV) and electric vehicles with lithium-ion batteries. Designed for technical quarantine areas, observation stations and service areas, the system protects people, buildings and infrastructure from the risks of a potential thermal runaway. 

The carport combines a robust, weatherproof steel structure with the integrated ecell-guard BASIC system for automated fire detection and fire containment. In critical states, the sensor system detects a danger early, activates the fire alarm (FAD) and automatically triggers the fire containment blanket. 

Thus, an incipient battery fire is controlled and the spread of the fire is significantly reduced – fully automatically and without manual intervention.

The ecell-guard Carport is particularly suitable for: 

  • Quarantine areas for damaged or crashed electric vehicles

  • Observation areas for HV vehicles with potentially unstable battery systems 


HV vehicles with damaged battery packs can ignite days after an incident. Special quarantine areas with permanent monitoring are therefore required and safety-relevant.

The extended vehicle length (silhouette length) must not exceed 7,50 m, the width 5,50 m. 

For operation, a fire alarm system (FAS) is required (not included in the delivery).
