The ThorPak® battery large load carriers are specially developed, certified reusable containers for the safe transport and storage of new and defective lithium-ion batteries. They meet the highest requirements for hazardous goods packaging and are approved for use in road, rail, and sea transport.

The systems enable safe, compliant, and efficient handling along the entire logistics chain – from prototypes to series production. Thanks to their robust design, integrated securing systems, and inner packaging, they offer an economical and sustainable solution for handling sensitive energy storage devices.

Special attention is given to transport safety, labeling, and ease of handling, thereby optimizing both packaging processes and logistical operations.

  • Design according to packaging instructions LP903, LP904, LP905 as well as P908, P909, P910
  • Classification for hazardous goods class 9 (lithium batteries)

Important note:
The transport of damaged or defective batteries is only permitted under certain conditions. Batteries in critically defective condition are excluded from approval.

Notes on use & operation

  • Use only in accordance with applicable hazardous goods regulations
  • Inner packaging must be supplemented with non-combustible, electrically non-conductive insulating material
  • Secure fixation of the batteries in the container is absolutely required
  • Carry out labeling and documentation in accordance with ADR requirements
  • Regular visual inspection of the packaging and securing systems is recommended
