CEMO battery storage cabinet FMplus S

In buildings and storage facilities where lithium-ion batteries are stored, damaged cells can pose a high risk potential for employees and the operating and storage technology. Explosive fires in batteries ("thermal runaway") are difficult to control. The FMplus battery storage cabinet from CEMO offers a suitable economical entry-level solution for this. The battery storage cabinet is suitable for the short-term storage of smaller lithium-ion batteries.

The FMplus battery storage cabinet is available in three different sizes (US, S, L).

Size, structure and function of the storage cabinet

The FMplus S battery storage cabinet has 3 storage levels with a total weight of 47 kg. The external dimensions of the cabinet are 59 x 46 x 89 cm (W x D x H). The internal dimensions are 51 x 38 x 79 cm (W x D x H).

Numerous safety functions

The lockable door with 3-point locking can be locked with a padlock if required (profile half cylinder suitable for locking systems). The sturdy, double-walled steel cabinet has a heat-insulating effect and the entire housing is cold smoke-tight thanks to additional door seals.

The built-in ventilation opening enables the intended connection to an exhaust air pipe to the outside. The battery storage cabinet can be lowered to a height of 8 to 9 cm for positioning and evacuation in an emergency. The standard built-in smoke detector emits an acoustic signal in the event of a fire.

Possible uses of the FMplus S battery storage cabinet

The double-walled steel cabinet is used as a protective measure for medium-sized, as-new lithium batteries, e.g. from power tools or garden tools.

The scope of delivery includes warning stickers and safety instructions.

The FMplus battery storage cabinet was tested in a battery fire test with Powertool batteries.

The body of the FMplus battery storage cabinet is powder-coated in light grey (RAL 7035) and the door in light red-orange (RAL 2008).

The (Premium) FWF models from CEMO are suitable for larger requirements. These are then suitable, for example, for the permanent storage of several/medium-sized used batteries.

General guidelines for battery storage

There are currently no legal regulations for the storage of lithium batteries / lithium-ion batteries. Only VdS Schadenverhütung GmbH issues general safety rules for damage prevention in its publication VdS 3103 : 2019-06 (03). It is advisable to clarify your requirements with your property insurance company in advance.
