In buildings and storage facilities where lithium-ion rechargeable batteries are kept, damaged cells can pose a high risk to employees and to operating and storage equipment. Explosive fires caused by batteries ("thermal runaways") are very difficult to control. The FMplus battery storage cabinet from CEMO offers a suitable and, at the same time, attractively priced, economical entry-level solution. The US battery storage cabinet with charging unit is particularly suitable for the short-term storage of smaller lithium-ion batteries (max. power tools). The FMplus US battery storage cabinet with charging unit is the smallest version.
Size, design and function of the CEMO FM-Plus US battery charging cabinet with charging unit and door contact switch
The FMplus US battery charging cabinet has two storage levels with a total weight of 30 kg. The external dimensions of the cabinet are 43 x 43 x 56 cm (W x D x H). The internal dimensions are 35 x 35 x 46 cm (W x D x H). Each storage level has a socket that switches itself off in the event of a fire. In addition, the cabinet switches itself off via a contact when the door is opened.
Tested in accordance with TÜV Nord / DMT programme up to 1.1 kWh
The battery cabinet has been tested in accordance with TÜV Nord DMT principle M02/22 Storage media for lithium-ion batteries. The maximum permissible energy density for this system is 1.1 kWh. No escape of flames or splinters.
Numerous safety features
The lockable door with 3-point locking can be secured with a padlock (profile half cylinder, suitable for locking systems) if required. The sturdy, double-walled steel cabinet has a heat-insulating effect and the entire housing is cold smoke-proof thanks to additional door seals.
Integrated vent for exhaust pipes
The built-in vent allows for proper connection to an exhaust pipe leading to the outside. The battery storage cabinet can be rolled up to a height of 8 to 9 cm for positioning and evacuation in an emergency. The smoke detector installed as standard emits an acoustic signal in the event of a fire.
Possible uses of the FMplus US battery storage cabinet
The double-walled steel cabinet serves as a protective measure for medium-sized, new lithium batteries from, for example, power tools or garden tools. With this version with charging unit, these can even be charged during storage.
Other (safety) information
Warning stickers and safety instructions are included in the scope of delivery. The FMplus battery storage cabinet has been tested in a battery fire test with power tool batteries. The body of the FMplus battery storage cabinet is powder-coated in light grey (RAL 7035) and the door in light red-orange (RAL 2008).

There are currently no legal regulations for the storage of lithium batteries/lithium-ion batteries. Only VdS Schadenverhütung GmbH provides general safety rules for damage prevention in its publication VdS 3103 : 2019-06 (03). It is advisable to clarify your requirements with your property insurer in advance.
