PRIOCAB-Li EI90 2 door floor-standing cabinet for storing and charging lithium-ion batteries

Buildings and storage facilities in which lithium-ion batteries are stored can pose a high risk potential for employees and the operating and storage technology. Explosive fires in batteries ("thermal runaway") are difficult to control. The PRIOCAB-Li EI90 BAT 2 door floor-standing cabinet is suitable for storing and charging lithium-ion batteries and can provide tested fire protection for 90 minutes from the inside and outside. This storage system can be customized and thus combines design and safety aspects.

Size, structure and function of the floor-standing cabinet - with many connection options

The PRIOCAB-Li EI90 safety storage cabinet has external dimensions of 2048 x 1148 x 549 mm, or 2148 x 1148 x 549 mm with control unit. The internal dimensions are 1804 x 1004 x 440 mm (height x width x depth) and the total weight is approx. 650 kg.

Can be customized on request

The free-standing cabinet is made of a non-combustible panel material. This is light grey as standard (similar to RAL 7035), but can be customized on request. The housing, including the decorative surface, has tested fire load insulation and is also highly mechanically resistant.

Lockable thanks to swivel lever lock

A swivel lever with double-bit cylinder protects against unauthorized access. The smooth-running, free-running doors open at an angle of approx. 180° into the body.

Fire protection seals limit the fire

In the event of fire, the circumferential fire protection seal foams up automatically. The doors should always remain closed despite the integrated ventilation system consisting of a smoke detector and fan.

Cable entries are provided ex works

There are cable entries at the top and bottom of the floor-standing enclosure, which make it possible to install additional fittings such as fire detectors in the enclosure. However, socket strips can be installed ex works. Please note the variants.

Load capacity up to 75 kg per shelf

The storage cabinet is supplied with 4 height-adjustable shelves. These have a load capacity of 75 kg each. Additional grating shelves can be ordered via the accessories. Please note that the shelves can be loaded up to approx. 70 %.

Base can be driven under for easy transportation

The plinth can be driven under at a height of 100 mm. A removable skirting board is installed in front of the plinth.

0-4 socket strips with 10 sockets each and additional cable entries

Depending on the version, the cabinet has 0-4 socket strips with 10 sockets each. This means that numerous batteries can be charged directly in the cabinet. Cable entries at the top and bottom make it possible to install additional charging options, sensors or other technology in the safety storage cabinet.

Additional safety thanks to smoke detector, control unit and fire suppression system (optional)

The integrated ventilation system consists of a smoke detector and fan. In the event of a fire, the control unit switches off the ventilation and the circumferential fire protection seal foams up automatically. The cabinet is not self-closing, which is why the doors should always remain closed. Please refer to the installation instructions under the "Downloads" tab. The optional aerosol extinguishing generator works even if the cabinet has been disconnected from the power supply. The extinguishing agent itself is environmentally and climate friendly and does not produce any environmentally hazardous by-products. You can find a video of a fire test in the "Videos" tab.

Certification and guidelines

The surface material is non-combustible according to classification A2 - s1, d0. The article has a fire resistance from the inside to the outside of 90 minutes. The storage cabinet is tested in accordance with European (EN) and German standards (DIN) and has a green building declaration in accordance with LEED and DGNB. Please note that this item is not a self-closing safety storage cabinet.

VDS recommendation for the storage of Li-ion batteries

To date, there are no legal regulations for the storage of lithium batteries / lithium-ion batteries. Only VdS Schadenverhütung GmbH issues general safety rules for damage prevention in its publication VdS 3103 : 2019-06 (03). It is advisable to clarify the requirements with your property insurance company in advance.
