Product information „CEMO 8/10 Premium Plus LockEX 2.0 charging cabinet with castors / 230 V“
Brief overview
The CEMO 8/10 Premium Plus LockEX 2.0 charging cabinet with castors is a fire- and explosion-resistant safety cabinet designed for the stationary storage and charging of lithium-ion batteries indoors. With multiple storage levels and a total of 18 slots, the larger 8/10 model offers sufficient space for the separate storage and charging of several battery packs.
The design combines fire-propagation-preventing storage levels with mechanical ventilation, acoustic fire detection and the LockEX 2.0 pressure relief system. The Premium Plus version extends the monitoring capabilities to include an electrically powered smoke detector, a temperature sensor, a display, a potential-free contact and an alarm relay. In addition, according to the manufacturer, communication is provided via either Wi-Fi or SMS. The charging cabinet is fitted with a 230 V power supply and castors.
The 230 V versions have a maximum electrical power rating of 3,500 W / 16 A. The version with castors makes it easier to move the cabinet at the installation site and is also wheelchair-accessible, though it is not stackable.

Safety and protection features
The mains-powered smoke detector emits an audible alarm when smoke is detected. In the Premium Plus version, temperature monitoring is carried out via a temperature sensor. An integrated display complements the monitoring functions.
The integrated potential-free contact provides the option of connecting to a central fire alarm system or existing safety infrastructure. In addition, the Premium Plus version features an alarm relay function. According to the manufacturer, communication can take place via either Wi-Fi or SMS, thereby enabling alarm transmission even without an internet connection.
The LockEX 2.0 pressure relief system is a standard feature of all four Premium Plus models. The fire-retardant storage layers are designed to limit the spread of a fire between individual battery modules.
In addition, the charging cabinet is fitted with a forced ventilation system and a door contact switch. This combines the electrical components required for charging with the cabinet’s structural protection and monitoring measures.
Areas of application
The CEMO 8/10 Premium Plus LockEX 2.0 charging cabinet is designed for the storage and simultaneous charging of lithium-ion batteries in commercial and industrial indoor environments.
Typical applications include:
- Industrial and manufacturing facilities
- Workshops and service areas
- Trades businesses
- Warehouse and logistics areas
- Research and development
- Charging and storing tool batteries
- Tool and machine batteries
With three shelves and 18 slots, the 8/10 model is particularly suitable for applications where several batteries need to be stored and charged simultaneously.
The enhanced monitoring and alarm functions of the Premium Plus version also allow the cabinet to be integrated into existing operational safety concepts.

FAQ
Standard security cabinets are designed for indoor use, so they cannot be used outdoors.
The fire protection panels installed in the cabinets contain gypsum, which contains a lot of water, which expands when frozen. This deforms the panels. It can no longer be guaranteed that such a cabinet is still sealed or can withstand an explosion.
If you already have a suitable room that is structurally fire-resistant, then you do not necessarily need a safety cabinet to contain the fire.
However, please do not forget that the damage caused by a battery fire involves immense and also toxic contamination, the disposal of which can quickly lead to high costs.
In addition, you may not be able to continue working as usual until the damage has been finally repaired - depending on the location of the damage.
