Product information „CEMO 8/5 Premium Plus LockEX 2.0 storage cabinet with stacking feet“
Brief overview
The CEMO 8/5 Premium Plus LockEX 2.0 charging cabinet with stacking feet is a compact, VDMA-certified safety cabinet designed for the stationary storage and charging of lithium-ion batteries indoors. It is particularly suitable for workshops, industrial, service and storage areas where batteries need to be protected and housed in a physically separated space whilst in storage and during the charging process.
The fire- and explosion-resistant design combines passive fire protection measures with mechanical ventilation, fire detection and the LockEX 2.0 pressure relief system. The Premium Plus version extends the monitoring capabilities to include an electrically powered smoke detector, temperature sensor, display, dry contact and an alarm relay. The charging cabinet is fitted with stacking feet.

Safety and protection features
The mains-powered smoke detector emits an audible alarm when a fire is detected. In the Premium Plus version, temperature monitoring is carried out via a temperature sensor. An integrated display shows system information.
The potential-free contact provides a connection option to a central fire alarm system or an existing safety infrastructure. In addition, the Premium Plus version features an alarm relay function. According to the manufacturer, communication is possible via either Wi-Fi or SMS, meaning that alerts can be transmitted even without an internet connection.
The LockEX 2.0 locking system is designed to provide controlled pressure relief in the event of an explosive pressure build-up inside the cabinet. The spring mechanism enables the doors to open in a controlled manner to relieve pressure and then close again.
The propagation-preventing compartmentalisation levels help to limit the spread of fire between individual batteries or battery modules. In addition, the charging cabinet is fitted with a mechanical ventilation system and a door contact switch.
Areas of application
The CEMO 8/5 Premium Plus LockEX 2.0 charging cabinet is designed for the storage and simultaneous charging of lithium-ion batteries in commercial and industrial indoor environments.

FAQ
Standard security cabinets are designed for indoor use, so they cannot be used outdoors.
The fire protection panels installed in the cabinets contain gypsum, which contains a lot of water, which expands when frozen. This deforms the panels. It can no longer be guaranteed that such a cabinet is still sealed or can withstand an explosion.
If you already have a suitable room that is structurally fire-resistant, then you do not necessarily need a safety cabinet to contain the fire.
However, please do not forget that the damage caused by a battery fire involves immense and also toxic contamination, the disposal of which can quickly lead to high costs.
In addition, you may not be able to continue working as usual until the damage has been finally repaired - depending on the location of the damage.
