Product information „CEMO Ladeschrank 8/20 LockEX 2.0“
Brief overview
The CEMO 8/20 LockEX 2.0 charging cabinets are safety cabinets designed for the stationary storage and charging of lithium-ion batteries indoors. With eight storage levels, six shelves and a total of 36 slots, the large 8/20 model offers sufficient capacity for the separate storage and simultaneous charging of a large number of batteries. The division into two sections, each of which can be opened independently, facilitates a structured use of the cabinet’s interior.
The fire- and explosion-resistant design combines passive fire protection measures with mechanical ventilation, fire detection and the LockEX 2.0 pressure relief system. Depending on the required level of safety and monitoring, the Basic and Premium versions are available. Both variants feature four 9-socket power strips with a total of 36 sockets and are available with either a 230 V or 400 V power supply.
CEMO CONTROL enables safety-related functions of the charging cabinets to be monitored and the cabinets to be intelligently networked with other units. The Premium version also features the web-based monitoring platform CEMO cockpit. The new data sheets specify CEMO CONTROL for both Basic and Premium, as well as CEMO cockpit for Premium.

CEMO CONTROL & CEMO cockpit
With CEMO CONTROL, the charging cabinets feature monitoring and smart networking functions. Safety-related functions can be monitored and operational data recorded centrally.
The Premium version also features the web-based monitoring platform CEMO cockpit. This enables live monitoring of the charging cabinet as well as centralised monitoring and management. In addition to the system status, temperature trends and energy consumption, amongst other things, can be monitored and events documented.
The Premium version also features a display on the cabinet and Wi-Fi.
Safety and protection functions
The integrated fire detection system provides a visual and audible warning should smoke be detected. It comprises an electrically powered smoke detector and a temperature sensor. A potential-free contact is also included in both versions.
The LockEX 2.0 pressure relief system is a standard feature of both versions and serves to relieve pressure in the event of a corresponding rise in pressure inside the cabinet. The fire-retardant partition levels are designed to limit the spread of a fire between individual battery modules.
The division of the cabinet into two sections that can be opened independently of one another enables spatial separation within the cabinet. In addition, the charging cabinets are fitted with a mechanical ventilation system and a door contact switch.
The premium version supplements the monitoring system with a display and the CEMO cockpit.
Areas of application
The CEMO 8/20 LockEX 2.0 charging cabinets are designed for the storage and simultaneous charging of lithium-ion batteries in commercial and industrial indoor environments.
Typical areas of application include:
- Industrial and manufacturing facilities
- Workshops and service areas
- Trades businesses
- Warehouse and logistics areas
- Research and development
- Charging and storing tool batteries
- Tool and machine batteries
With eight storage levels and a total of 36 slots, the 8/20 model is particularly suitable for applications where a large number of batteries need to be stored and charged simultaneously. The two compartments, which can be opened independently of one another, allow for further organisation of the cabinet’s interior.
The choice between 230 V and 400 V allows the charging infrastructure to be adapted to the required electrical power. With CEMO CONTROL, additional monitoring and networking functions are available for both versions. The Premium version extends these functions to include CEMO cockpit and a display on the cabinet.

FAQ
Standard security cabinets are designed for indoor use, so they cannot be used outdoors.
The fire protection panels installed in the cabinets contain gypsum, which contains a lot of water, which expands when frozen. This deforms the panels. It can no longer be guaranteed that such a cabinet is still sealed or can withstand an explosion.
If you already have a suitable room that is structurally fire-resistant, then you do not necessarily need a safety cabinet to contain the fire.
However, please do not forget that the damage caused by a battery fire involves immense and also toxic contamination, the disposal of which can quickly lead to high costs.
In addition, you may not be able to continue working as usual until the damage has been finally repaired - depending on the location of the damage.
