Product information „ECOSAFE M - storage/loading cabinet, 2-door“
Quick Overview
The ECOSAFE M is a high-quality safety cabinet for storage and optionally for charging lithium-ion batteries. Developed for professional use, it reliably protects against the risks of thermal runaway and reduces potential damage to people, buildings and operating facilities.
With a tested fire resistance of 90 minutes (Type 90) and standard-compliant fire tests, the cabinet provides comprehensive protection both from inside to outside and from outside to inside. This prevents a battery fire from spreading to the surroundings or external fires from affecting the cabinet contents.
The body consists of a high-quality steel construction with double heat-insulated triple wall. Integrated thermal insulation panels reduce thermal bridges, while the exterior surfaces are protected by a durable epoxy coating. The interior lining with melamine boards additionally provides a robust, chemically resistant and easy-to-clean surface.
The robust construction, combined with modular interior fittings as well as optionally integrable safety, alarm and charging systems, makes the ECOSAFE M a flexible and future-proof solution for modern battery storage concepts.

- Automatic fire suppression system
- Alarm and monitoring modules
- Extended electrical connection solutions (230 V / 400 V)
Thus, the ECOSAFE M can be configured flexibly—from a pure storage solution to a fully equipped charging cabinet with extended safety features.
Optional fire suppression
The optional fire suppression system serves to actively combat incipient fires inside the cabinet.
Function:
- Automatic triggering at critical temperature development (79° C)
- Release of a extinguishing or inerting agent into the interior
- Interruption of oxygen supply or cooling of the fire source
- Prevention of fire spread to further batteries
This system reduces the intensity of a battery fire and significantly limits consequential damage.
Optional alarm systems
To enable early detection and forwarding of hazards, additional alarm modules can be integrated.
Function scope:
- Detection of smoke or critical temperature rise inside the cabinet
- Visual and audible warning signals to indicate danger directly
- Forwarding alarms to external systems (e.g., building management or fire alarm central)
- Increase response speed during unattended operation
Configured accordingly, the safety cabinet is equipped with:
- an optical smoke detector for early fire detection
- a visual alarm indicator (strobe)
- an audible alarm signal (alarm tone)
The connection to an external fire alarm infrastructure is made via a control box with a potential-free contact. This enables a direct connection to the fire alarm central (BMZ).
The electrical wiring is structurally integrated:
Cables run inside the back wall of the cabinet and exit protected on the roof of the safety cabinet. This ensures a safe, clear and installation-friendly integration into existing safety systems.
Optional charging function / power connection (230 V / 400 V)
The ECOSAFE M can be operated as a storage cabinet or as a combined storage and charging cabinet.
230 V connection:
- Standard solution
- Connection via integrated power strips (e.g., 8 outlets per level)
- Suitable for typical workshop and service applications
400 V connection (optional):
- For higher charging power
- More even load distribution during intensive charging processes
- Use in industrial applications with increased energy demand
The electrical equipment is integrated via prepared connection areas and should be carried out by qualified personnel.

FAQ
Standard security cabinets are designed for indoor use, so they cannot be used outdoors.
The fire protection panels installed in the cabinets contain gypsum, which contains a lot of water, which expands when frozen. This deforms the panels. It can no longer be guaranteed that such a cabinet is still sealed or can withstand an explosion.
If you already have a suitable room that is structurally fire-resistant, then you do not necessarily need a safety cabinet to contain the fire.
However, please do not forget that the damage caused by a battery fire involves immense and also toxic contamination, the disposal of which can quickly lead to high costs.
In addition, you may not be able to continue working as usual until the damage has been finally repaired - depending on the location of the damage.
