Quick Overview
The ECOSAFE S is a high-quality safety cabinet for storage and optional charging of lithium-ion batteries. Designed for professional use, it reliably protects against the risks of thermal runaway and reduces potential damage to people, buildings and facilities.
With a tested fire resistance of 90 minutes (Type 90) and standard-compliant fire tests, the cabinet provides comprehensive protection both from the inside out and from the outside in. This prevents a battery fire from spreading to the surroundings or external fires from affecting the cabinet contents.
The body consists of a high-quality steel construction with double insulated triple-wall. Integrated thermal insulation panels reduce thermal bridges, while the exterior surfaces are protected by a durable epoxy coating. The interior lining with melamine panels additionally ensures a robust, chemically resistant and easy-to-clean surface.
The robust build, combined with modular interior fittings as well as optionally integrable safety, alarm and charging systems, makes the ECOSAFE S a flexible and future-proof solution for modern battery storage concepts.

Optional Fire Suppression
The optionally available fire suppression system is used to actively combat a developing fire inside the cabinet.
Functionality:
- Automatic triggering at a critical temperature rise (79° C)
- Release of a extinguishing or inerting agent into the interior
- Interruption of the oxygen supply or cooling of the fire source
- Prevention of fire spread to additional batteries
This system reduces the intensity of a battery fire and significantly limits consequential damages.
Optional Alarm Systems
For early detection and forwarding of hazards, additional alarm modules can be integrated.
Functionality:
- Detection of smoke or critical temperature rise inside the cabinet
- Visual and audible warning signals to indicate danger directly
- Forwarding of alarms to external systems (e.g., building management systems or fire alarm centers)
- Increased response speed in unattended operation
In an appropriate configuration, the safety cabinet is equipped with:
- an optical smoke detector for early fire detection
- a visual alarm indicator (strobe)
- an audible alarm signal (alarm tone)
Connection to an external fire alarm infrastructure is done via a Control Box with a potential-free contact. This enables a direct connection to the fire alarm center (BMZ).
The electrical cabling is structurally integrated: The cables are routed inside the cabinet rear wall and exit protected at the roof of the safety cabinet. This ensures a safe, clear and installation-friendly integration into existing safety systems.
Optional Charging Function / Power Connection (230 V / 400 V)
The ECOSAFE S can be operated as a storage cabinet or a combined storage and charging cabinet.
230 V connection:
- Standard solution
- Connection via integrated power strips (e.g., 8 outlets per level)
- Suitable for typical workshop and service applications
400 V connection (optional):
- For higher charging capacities
- More even load distribution during intensive charging processes
- Use in industrial applications with increased energy demand
