Product information „Genius PyroBubbles ® Cushion Pure M Extinguishing Granules“
PyroBubbles ® are a new type of extinguishing agent based on silicon dioxide. Silicon dioxide is also used in the manufacture of glass. The extinguishing granulate is extremely effective when conventional extinguishing agents such as water are no longer effective or would cause significant damage. PyroBubbles ® are ideal as filling material for Genius transport and storage containers. These filling cushions are used in containers from the Lio Guard series.
The granulate is supplied in bags. This version comes with 5 large PE cushions measuring 404x371x52 mm and with a filling quantity of 2.1 kg (7.8 litres). PyroBubbles ® are manufactured in two quality grades: Pure M and Premium. Recycled glass is also used in the production of Pure M.
Properties of PyroBubbles ®
PyroBubbles ® Pure M are suitable for combustible materials in fire class D. The average grain size is 2 to 6 mm. The extinguishing agent is water-repellent and age-resistant. Depending on the application, some of the PyroBubbles can be recovered and reused after use. In addition, the extinguishing agent is capable of absorbing electrolytes and is characterised by low thermal conductivity and electrical insulation.
Extinguishing effect of PyroBubbles ®
PyroBubbles ® are temperature-resistant up to approx. 700°C. In the event of a fire, the granulate melts and forms a closed, thermally insulating layer around the source of the fire, thereby removing oxygen. Combustible reaction gases are reduced thanks to the pores in the balls. The high specific heat capacity absorbs heat energy and the temperature is reduced thanks to the cooling effect. Furthermore, combustible material is shielded by the low thermal conductivity. PyroBubbles ® are also suitable for extinguishing metal fires.
