Product information „Genius PyroBubbles ® Pure M, extinguishing granulate, dust-free fabric cushion“
PyroBubbles ® are a new type of extinguishing agent based on silicon dioxide. Silicon dioxide is also used in the manufacture of glass. The extinguishing granulate is extremely effective when conventional extinguishing agents such as water are no longer effective or would cause significant damage. PyroBubbles ® are ideal as a filling material for Genius transport and storage containers. The filling material is used in containers from the Lio Guard series. Please note: Active battery firefighting with Pyrobubbles requires a special fire protection design.
Now available in dust-free fabric cushions!
PyroBubbles ® Pure M are now available in dust-free cushions, either as variant S with 0.78 kg per 16 pieces, M with 2.3 kg per 4 pieces, L with 5.3 kg per 2 pieces, or XL with 12.5 kg per 1 piece.
Properties of PyroBubbles ®
PyroBubbles ® Pure M are suitable for combustible materials in fire class D. The average grain size is 2 to 6 mm. The extinguishing agent is water-repellent and age-resistant. Depending on the application, some of the PyroBubbles can be recovered and reused after use. In addition, the extinguishing agent is capable of absorbing electrolytes and is characterised by low thermal conductivity and electrical insulation. Please note that PyroBubbles ® of quality grade Pure M may only be used as filling material for lithium-ion batteries in approved Genius transport containers during transport. Extinguishing effect of PyroBubbles ®
PyroBubbles ® Pure M are temperature-resistant up to approx. 700°C. In the event of a fire, the granules melt and form a closed, thermally insulating layer around the source of the fire, thereby depriving it of oxygen. Combustible reaction gases are reduced thanks to the pores in the balls. The high specific heat capacity absorbs thermal energy and the temperature is reduced thanks to the cooling effect. Furthermore, combustible material is shielded by the low thermal conductivity. PyroBubbles ® are also suitable for extinguishing metal fires.
