Battery-powered devices have become an indispensable part of everyday professional and operational life. From electrical appliances and power tools with batteries that every craftsman carries with them, to hand-held scanners in order picking and logistics, to navigation devices, smartphones, etc., which are now also part of the basic equipment of many professions – Li-ion batteries and rechargeable batteries are becoming increasingly prevalent in everyday business life. In addition to orderly storage when not in use, charging has become increasingly important, because the devices can only be used optimally when the battery is fully charged, making combined storage and charging solutions indispensable for businesses. Battery charging cabinets combine precisely these two functions: they enable the storage and simultaneous charging of batteries.
Each of the 4 compartments offers a 230V industrial socket for battery chargers
The battery cabinet presented here has a total of 4 full-size Schuko industrial sockets, each with 230V/50 Hz (IP54), so that even powerful Li-ion batteries can be charged. These are located in each of the individual compartments.
Check the charge level through practical acrylic windows
Acrylic windows are built into the four doors of the battery storage cabinet. The windows also have a safety rubber surround. This makes it easy to check the charge status of the Li-ion batteries inside without having to open the doors. A quick glance is all it takes to see whether the batteries are fully charged and ready for their next use.
Lockable doors on the storage compartments prevent unauthorised access
The lockable doors on the storage cabinet prevent unauthorised access to the batteries and the devices stored inside. Two keys are supplied for each cylinder lock.
Size, features and function of the battery charging cabinet
This battery charging cabinet has external dimensions of 1850 x 415 x 540 mm (height x width x depth). Each compartment has internal dimensions of approx. 445 x 385 x 480 mm (height x width x depth). It weighs 58 kg. The cabinet has four lockable doors with acrylic glass viewing windows with rubber edging. The rear panel is perforated for ventilation.
Safe charging for all your battery-powered devices
The charging cabinet has one 230V/50 Hz industrial socket each, compliant with IP54 standard. Power is supplied from outside via a 3 m cable with a Schuko plug.
Customisable and available in other colours
The frame and body of the battery charging cabinet are factory-finished in light grey – RAL 7035, with the front in gentian blue – RAL 5010. Other colours are available on request if you would like to customise the battery cabinet. For example, the cabinet could also be produced with a black body and red doors. VDS recommendation for the storage of Li-ion batteries
There are currently no legal regulations for the storage of lithium batteries/lithium-ion batteries. Only VdS Schadenverhütung GmbH provides general safety rules for damage prevention in its publication VdS 3103 : 2019-06 (03). The fire protection panels installed in the cabinets contain gypsum, which contains a lot of water, which expands when frozen. This deforms the panels. It can no longer be guaranteed that such a cabinet is still sealed or can withstand an explosion.
If you already have a suitable room that is structurally fire-resistant, then you do not necessarily need a safety cabinet to contain the fire.
However, please do not forget that the damage caused by a battery fire involves immense and also toxic contamination, the disposal of which can quickly lead to high costs.
In addition, you may not be able to continue working as usual until the damage has been finally repaired - depending on the location of the damage.
