Thanks to its UN approval for Packing Groups II and III and ADR approval, the box can be used—depending on the battery condition—for compliant transport of dangerous goods. It also serves as a stationary safety container for the temporary storage or quarantine of individual batteries.
The Li-SAFE 3-S features a special fire-resistant lining made from non-combustible materials. Three mouldable vermiculite-filled cushions securely hold the batteries in place, protect them against mechanical impact, and keep them safely separated. This helps minimise the effects of a potential thermal runaway while increasing safety during transport and storage.
With its greater internal height, the Li-SAFE 3-S is particularly suitable for taller or bulkier lithium-ion batteries.
