Overview
The LiBa ® Safe is a specially developed inner packaging solution for the safe storage, quarantine and preparation for transport of lithium-ion batteries. The powder-coated, fire-resistant steel tray combines a robust design with an integrated gas management system for the controlled venting of battery gases. This makes the system particularly suitable for the professional handling of lithium batteries that are showing signs of fault, are damaged or require monitoring.
The integrated LiBa ® vent system reduces pressure build-up in the event of an incident, minimises high-frequency emissions and prevents the escape of solids via a particle barrier. The LiBa ® safe is designed as ADR-compliant inner packaging and can be used as part of a comprehensive storage and transport concept. When combined with the LiBa ® Box, it creates a comprehensive safety solution for the storage, quarantine and transport of lithium-ion batteries.

The LiBa ® Safe is available for lithium batteries weighing up to 3 tonnes and, depending on the model, can be fitted with crane eyes or forklift sockets. Additional weather protection is required for outdoor storage.
Safety features
Integrated LiBa ® Sol extinguishing system
The LiBa ® Box is equipped with the LiBa ® Sol extinguishing system. The system activates automatically at temperatures of around 180 °C and requires no external power supply. It helps to contain thermal runaway events and contributes to reducing the impact of a battery fire. At the same time, it treats the fire and process gases generated during thermal runaway.
LiBa ® Vent gas management system
The integrated LiBa ® Vent system was developed specifically for the safe handling of lithium-ion batteries. The functions are :
- Controlled venting of battery gases
- Reduction of pressure build-up in the event of an incident
- HF reduction
- Gas permeability whilst maintaining a particle barrier
- Protection against the escape of sparks and particles

Instructions for use & operation

System compatibility with the LiBa ® Box
For maximum safety, the LiBa ® Safe can be combined with the LiBa ® Box. Whilst the LiBa ® Safe serves as the ADR-compliant inner packaging, the LiBa ® Box provides the appropriate outer packaging with additional protective features. Together, they form a comprehensive safety concept for the storage, quarantine and transport of lithium-ion batteries.

No additional transfer required
Batteries that have already been secured inside a LiBa ® Safe can be placed directly into the appropriate LiBa ® Box without the need for additional transfer. This reduces handling effort, the risk of damage and safety risks.
