The Lio Guard Storage Box 30 storage container made of galvanised steel presented here is the ideal solution for users looking for a reliable way to safely store lithium batteries/lithium-ion batteries that comply with UN3090, UN3091, UN3480 and UN3481 regulations. This system was developed in cooperation with a leading manufacturer of metal boxes in Europe. In addition to storing intact lithium batteries, the Lio Guard Storage Box 30 standard storage container is particularly suitable for damaged cells, which pose a significant hazard to the environment.
Size and capacity of the battery storage container
The Storage Box 30 storage container is a lockable steel container with an insert for the safe storage of lithium batteries/lithium-ion batteries. The container has a total volume of 30 litres. The maximum permissible total weight is 179 kg and the maximum recommended dimensions for dangerous goods are 343 x 193 x 370 mm. The insert is not removable and also ensures that the cells are effectively kept away from the outer walls of the container.
The Lio Guard Storage Box 30 storage container has an empty weight of 79 kg and external dimensions of 600 x 400 x 750 mm. The internal dimensions of the box without the insert are 488 x 334 x 590 mm (length x width x height). The internal dimensions of the insert are 363 x 213 x 390 mm. This area of the inner container can be used for storing lithium-ion batteries. The containers can be stacked three high and are also very well suited for handling with industrial trucks. The box is accessible from all sides and has a ground clearance of 100 mm.
A coordinated system through the use of PyroBubbles ®
Individual and expensive storage solutions can be replaced by using this economical and standardised product. The boxes are permanently reusable. The box is filled between the inner wall and the insert with approx. 14 kg of the fire protection agent PyroBubbles ®, which can form a closed and thermally insulating layer around a source of fire. The lid of the box contains 40 small PE filling cushions with PyroBubbles ® weighing 0.22 kg (0.70 litres) each. These cushions are surrounded by thin, needle-punched polyethylene (PE) film, which dissolves in the event of a fire, releasing the extinguishing agent. This provides optimum protection for the environment against damaged lithium batteries/lithium-ion batteries. Even in the event of a chain reaction (thermal runaway), the environment is reliably protected.
Certification and guidelines
There are currently no legal regulations governing the storage of lithium batteries/lithium-ion batteries. However, by purchasing this storage system, you will be optimally equipped for any regulations that may arise in the future.
