This safety cabinet is an innovative storage and charging system for lithium-ion rechargeable batteries / lithium-ion batteries. This innovative and DIN-certified cabinet system was developed by Düperthal to prevent damage caused by damaged battery cells. Smoke gases in particular can permanently damage surrounding electronic devices. The BATTERY line cabinets from Düperthal protect you from the outset against this and other damage that can be caused, for example, by thermal runaway lithium-ion battery cells. The tested fire resistance from the inside to the outside makes this system particularly interesting for use in the industrial sector.
Size, storage capacity and function of the battery safety cabinet
The Düperthal BATTERY line station series includes various safety storage cabinets for lithium-ion rechargeable batteries / lithium-ion batteries. The storage levels also have 230 V connections for connecting chargers. The power connection for the lithium battery cabinet itself is via a reverse polarity protected 16 A CEE -L+N+PE 6h plug, so that in addition to the pure storage of lithium-ion batteries, charging is also possible. The supply voltage is single-phase 230 V / 50 Hz, max. 3.68 kW. Please contact us if you require a higher supply voltage.
Storage capacity of the Düperthal BATTERY station line M safety storage cabinet
The M model has external dimensions of 2085 x 594 x 612 mm (height x width x depth). The internal dimensions listed above refer to the available storage space (height x width x depth). The empty weight is 320 kg with a maximum internal cabinet volume of 0.43 m³. The cabinet can be driven under with a pallet truck for better handling.
54 Ah approved per stored cell
The maximum capacity of the individual lithium-ion cells that may be stored in the cabinet is 54 Ah. Please note that the 54 Ah does not refer to the entire battery, as each battery consists of several cells. This value covers the majority of batteries used today. Each storage level has a load capacity of 75 kg. The floor drip tray at the bottom of the cabinet has a volume of 22 liters. A video of the fire test carried out can be found in the "Videos" tab.
One storage area per storage level
In the M version, the safety storage cabinet has four storage levels.
Also suitable for loading
All storage levels are equipped with four sockets so that the Düperthal BATTERY Station Line M safety storage cabinet can not only be used to store lithium-ion batteries, but also to charge them at the same time - ideal for integration into the day-to-day operations of many companies. The sockets are located on the inside right-hand side of the battery safety storage cabinet. Maximum safety is combined here with optimized operating procedures.
Alarm forwarding for Düperthal battery safety storage cabinets
As an option, the Düperthal systems can be equipped with a potential-free contact for alarm forwarding. Optical and acoustic signals and alarm modules are also possible. Please contact us if you require these systems: info@lion-care.com or +49 7151 256 4811.
Düperthal BATTERY station line M battery cabinet - safety at the highest level
The safe storage of Li-ion batteries was the top priority for Düperthal when developing this cabinet. The various safety mechanisms that protect the environment in the event of a battery fire or even a battery explosion are correspondingly extensive and sophisticated.
Fire resistance F90 / Type 90 - 90-minute protection in the event of fire
If a Li-ion battery catches fire, the environment must be reliably protected from the resulting hazards. The battery safety cabinets from Düperthal, such as the Düperthal BATTERY station line M safety cabinet presented here, have an F90 / Type 90 fire resistance rating, i.e. they offer 90 minutes of protection before the burning batteries cause damage to the environment. Within these 90 minutes, the surrounding area can be evacuated, initial countermeasures can be taken with suitable battery fire extinguishers and extinguishing agents and the fire department can be called to ensure optimum safety.
Double protection - for the environment and for the stored lithium-ion batteries
Unlike many other manufacturers of safety storage cabinets, the Düperthal models are subjected to a double fire protection test. The F90 fire resistance rating applies both from the inside out and from the outside in. This means that the environment is protected if the batteries catch fire (protection from the inside out), but the Li-ion batteries are also protected if a fire breaks out around the safety storage cabinet (protection from the outside in).
Intelligent locking mechanisms for the cabinet doors
The door remains open in any position, but a cylinder lock with permanent locking can lock the hinged door. At a temperature of approx. 50 °C, the door closes automatically in the enclosure due to the thermal triggering of the automatic door closure. A backdraft lock ensures that the door can no longer be opened. The fire department can open the doors using an emergency release on the top of the enclosure.
Exhaust air openings close automatically from the outside in the event of a fire
There is an NW110 exhaust air pipe with NW75 adapter on the cabinet. In the event of a fire outside the cabinet, the exhaust air openings are closed by the safety technology at a room temperature of approx. 70 °C. Control cut-outs are incorporated above the false ceiling, which change to red when the exhaust air openings are closed. In the event of a fire inside, the smoke gases are "compressed" in the cabinet and can be discharged to the outside via the exhaust air connection. Please note that the connection to the exhaust air and the materials required for this are not included in the scope of delivery/service. The connection to the exhaust air must be provided by the customer.
Drip trays retain hazardous liquids
There is a floor drip tray at the bottom of the battery cabinet that can collect any leaking liquids. Especially when batteries are defective, environmentally hazardous liquids can leak out. Li-ion batteries contain electrolytes that pose a risk to people and the environment. The drip tray integrated in the cabinet effectively retains this.
Level compensation ensures ideal stability
The adjustable feet of the Düperthal BATTERY Station Line M safety storage cabinet are adjustable and enable level compensation. This ensures that the battery cabinet stands perfectly on virtually any surface.
Customization and further equipment available
Düperthal offers a wide range of customization options and extensive accessories for the Battery-Line safety storage cabinets so that they can be perfectly adapted to your company's needs.
Cabinet doors available in other colors
The door is made of sheet steel in the color PANTONE 389 C (yellow-green). Other colors are available on request. This allows the cabinets to be optimally integrated into your company.
Temperature monitoring, load adapter and much more.
Tested pipe penetrations are optionally available. If loads are to be stored on the top of the enclosure, load adapters are available for installation to ensure that the fire resistance is not impaired.
Certification and maintenance of the battery safety cabinet
There are currently no legal regulations for the storage of lithium batteries / lithium-ion batteries. However, by purchasing this storage system, you are optimally equipped for any regulations that may arise. Lithium-ion batteries are class 9 hazardous goods.
Extensive testing in accordance with DIN / EN 14470-1
These battery cabinet systems from Düperthal are tested as safety cabinets in accordance with DIN. Type tests have been carried out by MPA/TÜV SÜD in accordance with DIN EN 14470-1 (fire resistance of safety storage cabinets for flammable liquids), DIN EN 16121 and DIN EN 16122 (test methods for determining the strength, durability and stability of storage cabinets for residential and non-residential use) and DIN 31000 loss prevention in accordance with VdS 3103:2015-06. CE marks are also available. The BATTERY line safety storage cabinets are also certified as type 90 in accordance with EN14470-1. This means that the fire resistance of the cabinets has been tested and classified over 90 minutes according to type.
Delivery and maintenance of the battery cabinets
The cabinets are delivered to the point of use. The customer's requirements for delivery are checked prior to delivery. Additional lifting equipment or similar may be required to set up the cabinets. Please contact us before placing the order to clarify any special requirements.
In accordance with BetrSichV, TRGS 526, TRGS, 510, ArbStättV and the maintenance interval specified by the manufacturer, safety equipment must be inspected once a year by an expert (qualified person) in accordance with TRBS 2103.
