Product information „Ecosafe 795+LIA4 storage cabinet, 2-door“
This safety cabinet is an innovative storage system for lithium-ion rechargeable batteries/lithium-ion batteries. Ecosafe developed this innovative and certified cabinet system to prevent damage to people and property caused by faulty battery cells. The 105 min safety cabinets from Ecosafe protect you right from the start against this and other damage that can be caused, for example, by continuous (thermal runaway) lithium-ion battery cells. The tested fire resistance from the inside to the outside and the fire suppression systems in particular make this system interesting for use in the industrial sector.
Size, storage capacity and function of the battery safety cabinet
In this configuration, the Ecosafe 795+LI safety cabinet for lithium-ion batteries is a pure storage system for lithium-ion rechargeable batteries / lithium-ion batteries with four storage shelves, a fire suppression system and a floor collection tray. Additional equipment such as power strips can be configured via the accessories or variants.
Storage capacity of the Ecosafe 795+LI safety cabinet for lithium-ion batteries
The model has external dimensions of 1950 x 1137 x 620 mm (height x width x depth). The internal dimensions are 1620 x 100 x 410 mm. The empty weight is 455 kg. The cabinet can be moved with a pallet truck for easier handling. To do this, the skirting board must be removed.
Robust materials ensure safety
The body consists of a steel construction with double heat-insulated triple walls. The heat insulation panels limit thermal bridges and the outer walls are coated with white epoxy paint. The interior of the safety cabinet is lined with melamine interior panels.
Optional power strips – turning the storage cabinet into a charging cabinet
If the batteries are to be not only stored but also charged inside the safety cabinet, this battery cabinet can be supplied with integrated power strips.
Depending on individual requirements, four or more power strips are possible with this model. The cables are routed to the outside via a cable gland on the side. Simply select the appropriate variant. Please contact us if you require additional power strips. When purchasing a variant with power strips, the cable gland is included: Item no. ECOZUBPEXTBALI.
Ecosafe 795+LI Safety cabinet – safety at the highest level
The safe storage of Li-ion batteries was the top priority when developing this cabinet for Ecosafe. The various safety mechanisms that protect the environment in the event of a battery fire are correspondingly comprehensive and sophisticated.
Fire resistance tested in a fire chamber test and certified as Type 90 in accordance with EN 14470-1 – fire resistance over 105 minutes
If a Li-ion battery catches fire, the environment must be reliably protected from the dangers it poses. Ecosafe battery safety cabinets, such as the Ecosafe 795+LIA4 safety cabinet presented here, have a fire resistance of over 105 minutes when exposed to external fire. In the case of internal fires, a fire resistance of approx. 90 minutes was achieved. This is the time available before the burning batteries cause damage to the environment. Within these 90 minutes, the area can be evacuated, initial countermeasures can be taken with suitable battery fire extinguishers and extinguishing agents, and the fire brigade can be called, ensuring optimum safety.
Double protection – for the environment and for the stored lithium-ion batteries
Ecosafe models have undergone double fire protection testing. The F90 fire resistance rating applies both from the inside to the outside and from the outside to the inside. This means that the environment is protected if the batteries catch fire (protection from the inside to the outside), but the Li-ion batteries are also protected if a fire breaks out in the vicinity of the safety cabinet (protection from the outside to the inside).
Fire suppression system provides additional safety
The system is thermally triggered at a temperature of 79°C. The extinguishing agent is a mixture of potassium nitrate and polyepoxide, which acts on the burning lithium-ion batteries. The aerosol suppresses the chemical chain reaction that occurs during a fire for a period of approximately 30 minutes. No electricity is required to activate the fire extinguisher. After use, thorough ventilation of the room is recommended. The system does not require any special maintenance and has a service life of 15 years.
Intelligent locking mechanisms for cabinet doors
The door can be locked with the key provided. The doors are permanently self-closing.
Exhaust air openings close automatically in the event of a fire
.
There is a ventilation pipe for supply and exhaust air with a diameter of 100 mm on the cabinet. At an interior temperature of approx. 70°C, the exhaust air openings are closed by the safety technology. This is achieved by means of a hot-melt adhesive. The door seals also foam up in the event of a fire. The cabinet also has a mounting point for the ground connection.
Individual customisation and additional equipment available
Ecosafe offers a wide range of customisation options and extensive accessories, so that you can adapt it perfectly to your own needs in your company. In the Accessories tab, you will find additional equipment such as floor collection trays and power strips. We are happy to assist you with this. Please feel free to contact us.
Certification and maintenance of the battery safety cabinet
There are currently no legal regulations for the storage of lithium batteries/lithium-ion batteries. However, by purchasing this storage system, you will be optimally equipped for any regulations that may arise in the future. Lithium-ion batteries are classified as Class 9 dangerous goods.
Comprehensive testing in accordance with EN 14470-1
These battery cabinet systems from Ecosafe are tested as safety cabinets in accordance with EN 14470-1 (fire resistance of safety cabinets for flammable liquids) and are also certified as Type 90. This means that the fire resistance of the cabinets has been tested and classified for over 90 minutes according to the type. In the fire chamber test, a fire resistance of 105 minutes was achieved when exposed to fire from the outside in accordance with ISO 834. Pictograms in accordance with ISO 3864, ISO 7010 and European Directive 92/58/EEC are affixed to the cabinet.
Delivery of the battery cabinets
The cabinet is delivered packed on a pallet.

Safe storage of lithium-ion batteries – increasingly important in the future
Lithium-ion batteries will become indispensable in all industrial applications in the coming years. However, if used improperly, these batteries can pose a potential hazard that should not be underestimated during manufacture, storage and transport. By purchasing a suitable safety cabinet, you can protect yourself from the outset against major financial losses that could result from battery fires, for example.

FAQ
Standard security cabinets are designed for indoor use, so they cannot be used outdoors.
The fire protection panels installed in the cabinets contain gypsum, which contains a lot of water, which expands when frozen. This deforms the panels. It can no longer be guaranteed that such a cabinet is still sealed or can withstand an explosion.
If you already have a suitable room that is structurally fire-resistant, then you do not necessarily need a safety cabinet to contain the fire.
However, please do not forget that the damage caused by a battery fire involves immense and also toxic contamination, the disposal of which can quickly lead to high costs.
In addition, you may not be able to continue working as usual until the damage has been finally repaired - depending on the location of the damage.
