VLITEX – Expert in technical textiles
VLITEX has been active in the market for technical textiles for over 20 years. Through the development of innovative products made from technical glass, the VLITEX fire blankets were created. A special glass fiber fabric blocks the oxygen supply. Thus, under the fire blanket the fire is suffocated or kept under control in battery fires. In addition, both the ambient temperature and the smoke development are significantly reduced. All VLITEX fire blankets for electric cars and Li-ion batteries are environmentally friendly, resource-saving, maintenance-free, temperature-, weather- and heat-resistant.
Fire blankets for EVs and battery fires from VLITEX
The VLITEX fire blankets are made of special glass fibers and wrapped with a dense silicone coating, so that battery fires of any kind, including for example from electric cars, can be reliably contained. The M-version of the VLITEX fire blankets offered here are reusable and thus financially particularly attractive compared to many alternatives that are designed for single use. Other advantages of the VLITEX Premium M fire blankets at a glance:
- Easy handling without long instruction
- Smoke-inhibiting
- Low maintenance
- Reusable multiple times
- Weather-resistant (usable in both summer and winter)
- Environmentally friendly, because the environment is not contaminated when extinguishing
Use as a preventive measure for crashed electric cars
Besides active firefighting, i.e. to extinguish fires of electric cars or other batteries, VLITEX fire blankets are perfectly suited for preventive use: The blanket spread over a crashed electric car prevents a larger fire from spreading to the surroundings while the vehicle can burn under the blanket. In particular, the alternative extinguishing measures with a lot of water, which are otherwise used by fire departments to extinguish batteries, are not necessary. With a permanent temperature resistance of 1000°C and peak loads of 1300°C, they are not only ideal for extinguishing electric cars, but also for vehicles with conventional internal combustion engines.
