Extinguishing fires involving lithium-ion batteries will pose an ever greater challenge in the future. The fire extinguisher is particularly suitable for fires involving plastic, rubber and batteries and can be operated by a single person. It is characterized by its extraordinary service and environmental friendliness.

Attention: No maintenance sticker is attached, included or available to order!

Compact fire extinguisher

The F-500 WD 6 DD fire extinguisher from Neuruppin has a capacity of 6 liters. This enables a spraying time of approx. 29 seconds with a spraying range of 5 - 6 m. The fire extinguisher has external dimensions of 570 x 225 x 225 mm and weighs 11.4 kg.

The fire extinguisher is also available in 1 l, 3 l and 9 l sizes.

Easy handling

The environmentally friendly extinguishing agent, which is frost-protected down to -30 °C, can attack the fire quickly and effectively. It consists mainly of water and the fluorine-free additive F-500 Encapsulator Agent. F-500 encapsulates and suffocates the combustibles and flammable gases.

The proven continuous pressure technology with galvanized brass valve, test valve and pressure gauge and its robust Made in Germany design guarantee a long service life. An overpressure protection mechanism provides additional safety.

Versatile application

The fire extinguisher is specially designed for use on burning lithium-ion batteries, rubber tires or plastics. It is already in use in the following areas, among others:

  • Offices & authorities
  • Car dealerships
  • Battery production
  • Firefighting for a wide range of materials, especially plastics, rubber, wood, lithium-ion batteries and cars
  • Chemical factories
  • Print shops
  • Electric charging stations
  • Trade fairs & congresses
  • Parking garages & garages
  • Recycling plants & landfills
  • Places of assembly

Further special advantages of the Neuruppin F-500 WD 6 DD fire extinguisher

  • Frost-protected, can be used down to -30 °C
  • Very strong cooling effect due to earlier release of energy into the extinguishing water (phase change starts at approx. 70 °C)
  • reduced surface tension of the extinguishing agent improves the extinguishing effect
  • can be used against electrical systems up to 1,000 V at a safety distance of 1 m

F-500 EA extinguishing agent additive - proven fire fighting

F-500 EA is the innovative, environmentally friendly and pioneering multifunctional extinguishing agent. It has been tested and approved and has no hazardous properties in accordance with the Chemicals Act. Its combined extinguishing properties make it extremely effective as an active extinguishing agent additive and ideal for fighting fires involving solid organic flammable substances, polar and non-polar flammable liquids, flammable light metals, burning fats and burning and reacting lithium-ion batteries.

F-500 EA as a multifunctional extinguishing agent additive to water is successfully suitable for 98 % of all fires and also has a shelf life of 15 years if the recommended storage conditions are observed.

F-500 EA as a fire extinguishing agent is already in use at companies such as RWE, BMW, Tesla, Liebherr, Stihl, Bosch and many more.

Neuruppin fire extinguishers - the highest standards for the protection of people and assets

The success story began back in 1905 with the start of production at the fire extinguisher factory on Lake Neuruppin. For over 100 years, fire extinguishers from Neuruppin have set the standard for preventive fire protection.

The fire protection products are manufactured in Germany in accordance with the highest European regulations. This guarantees the highest quality. In addition, production is ISO 9001:2008 certified and is regularly monitored by various testing organizations.

Future-oriented

Lithium-ion batteries will be indispensable in all industrial and increasingly also in private applications in the coming years. However, if used improperly, batteries can pose a potential hazard during production, storage and transportation that should not be underestimated. By purchasing a suitable fire extinguisher, you can protect yourself from the outset against major financial damage that can be caused by battery fires, for example.

FAQ
Fragen & Antworten zum Artikel ... mehr
What fire class are lithium-ion batteries assigned to?
Lithium-ion batteries are currently not assigned to any specific fire class. The batteries consist of various solid and liquid components, which makes concrete classification difficult. Focusing solely on fire class D, for example, is not effective.
What test procedures are used for fire extinguishers for lithium-ion batteries?
There are currently no specific standardized test procedures that prove suitability beyond doubt. All systems sold by us have been tested for suitability by the manufacturers' internal testing departments and/or partially verified by external laboratories. If there are clear statements regarding suitability (e.g., max. energy density), these are communicated in the product description. Please contact us if you have any doubts or questions.
How do the different extinguishing agents in fire extinguishers differ?
In most cases, these are water-based products with various additives. Bavaria's Water Glue is a gel that adheres excellently to surfaces and also ensures that the areas treated with the gel cannot ignite. The systems from Gloria and Neuruppin are water with an extinguishing agent additive (Imprex-C or F500-EA) that changes the properties of the water. These additives change the surface tension of the water, improve the penetration depth, and ensure a better cooling effect of the water. LithiumX from Bavaria is an aqueous dispersion in which natural silicon crystals are kept in suspension in an aqueous solution. When sprayed onto the burning material, the water evaporates and the microscopic silicon flakes swell and merge to form an impermeable barrier layer. This isolates the fire and immediately reduces the thermal radiation above the barrier layer to below 100°C. An alternative name for these systems on the market is “AVD.” PyroBubbles: PyroBubbles are small glass beads. In the event of a fire, the granules melt and form a closed, thermally insulating layer around the source of the fire, thereby depriving it of oxygen. Combustible reaction gases are reduced thanks to the pores in the spheres. The high specific heat capacity absorbs thermal energy and the temperature is reduced thanks to the cooling effect. Furthermore, combustible material is shielded by the low thermal conductivity. Please note: Active firefighting with PyroBubbles requires a specific fire protection concept.
