the "LACONT Battery Concrete Cabinet BBS" was specially developed for the safe storage and, if necessary, charging of lithium-ion batteries and is one of the safest solutions currently available on the market. The design of this cabinet also makes it ideal for outdoor installation.

High level of safety in the event of fire thanks to solid concrete construction

This concrete cabinet is characterized by impressive technical features. The concrete body consists of prefabricated reinforced concrete elements with an impressive fire resistance class of F90. The concrete used is impermeable to water in accordance with EN 206-1 standards and meets the requirements of XC4, XD1, XF1 and XA1 classes. The surfaces of the cabinet are smooth and have chamfered edges. The roof of the enclosure is sloped towards the rear wall and has a drip edge for additional protection.

Can be driven under and is easy to transport

Two drive-in openings measuring 220 x 100 mm make it easy to transport the cupboard.

With integrated floor drip tray to collect leaking electrolytes

The floor drip tray of the cabinet is made of 3 mm galvanized sheet steel and meets the requirements of the German Water Resources Act (WHG). This tray is welded liquid-tight and bears the Ü mark in accordance with the StawaR. With a collection volume of 30 liters, it offers reliable protection.

Innovative pressure relief and gas management system

To relieve pressure, the ceiling panel of the cabinet has an opening and a pressure relief dome. An integrated gas management system with a fleece mat is used to filter harmful gases in the event of an accident. The BBS type cabinet has external dimensions of 1500 x 910 x 2314 mm and internal dimensions of 1100 x 630 x 1600 mm. With four adjustable storage levels (1000 x 500 x 280 mm), each level can be loaded with up to 100 kg. The total weight of the cabinet is 2850 kg.

Solid fire door that cannot be prised open

The T90-1 fire door (BRM 1100 x 1600 mm) complies with the general building authority approvals of the DIBt Berlin. It is lockable and has an additional wedge lever lock. The door opens up to 130° and is galvanized and painted.

Charging device for the electrical charging of batteries:

The facility has a CE-EU declaration of conformity and is equipped with overvoltage protection. Each storage level is equipped with a power strip with five sockets, which has an illuminated two-pole safety switch for switching on and off. A 16 A automatic circuit breaker provides additional safety.

The sockets are arranged at 45° and provide sufficient spacing to allow angled plugs to be used without any problems. The rated current is 16 A. The charger measures 46 cm in length, 6.5 cm in width and 4 cm in height. A total of five sockets are available. The IP20 protection rating ensures adequate protection against foreign bodies.

In addition, this charger has a leakage current protection of 13500 A to ensure that it meets the required safety standards.

Customer requirements:

• The installation area should be able to demonstrate a floor load of at least 26 kN/m².
• The floor accuracy should meet the requirements of DIN 18202, table 3, line 3.
• Anchoring to the floor is not required as the cabinet is stable on the floor due to its own weight.
• The earthing can be connected to existing foundation or deep earth electrodes.

LaCont aerosol extinguishing system available as an accessory

Aerosol LiBa extinguishing system®Sol (VDS approved):

• This system is based on aerosol, a mixture of gas and solid/gaseous particles.
• In the event of a fire, the aerosol spreads in the cabinet, displaces oxygen, dilutes flammable gases and starts the extinguishing process.
• The VDS-approved extinguishing agent LiBa®Sol is environmentally friendly, does not produce any environmentally hazardous by-products and is climate-friendly.

Fire test carried out in accordance with the strict specifications for transport containers for critical lithium-ion batteries in accordance with special regulation 376 and packaging regulation P 911 or LP 906

A comprehensive test in accordance with the ADR specifications determined that the BBS fully meets the protection target. At no time is the temperature of 100°C exceeded on the outside. No flames are emitted and no solid parts escape from the cabinet. The HF measurements show that no critical hydrogen fluoride concentrations were detected outside the cabinet. This shows that the filter system used can fully meet its protection objective.

Optional loading device available for safe loading

Depending on the selection, the cabinet also has a charging device for charging batteries that meets all the necessary safety standards. The safe storage of lithium-ion batteries is therefore guaranteed and potential risks in terms of fire, smoke and explosion are successfully minimized.
