LOXXER LOXK1100 battery charging cabinet

 The storage and charging cabinet has been developed for indoor use to safely store and charge lithium-ion batteries, focusing mainly on batteries for bicycles, scooters, hand tools and similar applications.

Dimensions and features of the LOXK1100 charging cabinet.

The LOXK1100 charging cabinet weighs approx. 162.5 kg and has external dimensions of 1126 x 760 x 584 mm and internal dimensions of 760 x 680 x 500 mm (H x W x D). The power supply is 230 V 16 A, the maximum load capacity of the shelf is 70 kg. The cabinet should be installed indoors under normal conditions. The cabinet has 2 shelves inside, with a socket strip with 8 sockets in the upper shelf.

Technical properties and features of the charging cabinet: Fire-retardant materials, so that there is enough time to take further measures, optionally with 60 or 90 minutes fire protection!

The cabinet is made of fire-resistant materials, which means that it protects the batteries and other items stored in the cabinet for a considerable period of time in the event of a fire. In the event of an explosion, a pressure relief valve reduces the pressure in the cabinet and lowers the internal pressure to a normal level. The panels installed in the cabinet have a fire resistance rating of 60 minutes. If the cabinet is ordered including aerosol, the operating time is increased to 90 minutes! The aerosol is able to suppress the fire for 90 minutes.

Fire-resistant shelves

The cabinet has two compartments divided by two adjustable, fire-resistant shelves. The shelves have a maximum load capacity of 70 kg and are designed to prevent the spread of fire between the levels.

Smoke and temperature detector

The cabinet is equipped with a smoke detector and a temperature detector that can detect the first signs of fire at an early stage.

Socket strips with 8 sockets

A charging strip with 8 sockets is integrated in the cabinet. The number of sockets varies depending on the type of power strip used.

Door with contact sensor

Equipped with a self-closing hinged door with contact sensor, the enclosure reliably detects whether the door is open or closed.

Adjustable leveling feet

The cabinet is equipped with adjustable leveling feet for optimum stability. A removable (magnetic) base panel provides additional flexibility.

Active ventilation

Prevents excessive heat build-up in the batteries and keeps the temperature within safe limits.

Connection for exhaust air system

A connection for an exhaust air system is available to safely dissipate excess heat and air pressure.

Alarm system

An audiovisual alarm system with RGB LED provides visual and audible information about the current status and potential hazards.

Optional aerosol fire suppression system provides additional safety

In the event of a fire, the loading cabinet has an aerosol suppression system that helps to fight the fire and prevent it from spreading. The fire suppression system is optional!

Smoke and temperature detection function

By detecting smoke and temperature, the first signs of a fire hazard can already be detected. The cabinet is equipped with a smoke detector and a temperature sensor.

In the event of detection:

• Triggering of the alarm (audiovisual alarm and RGB LED)

• Notification of the central fire alarm panel (if connected)

• Interruption of the battery charging process

• Switching off the active ventilation

Priority areas and operation during smoke detection

The operation of the charging cabinet is designed to ensure the safety of users and the integrity of the stored batteries. The five priority areas include

1. Ensuring safe operation
2. Detection of smoke and fire
3. Alerting in the event of danger
4. Activation of aerosol fire suppression (where fitted)
5. Control of lithium fires in the cabinet to prevent spreading

In the event of smoke detection, the charging cabinet performs a series of predefined steps to minimize potential hazards:

• Triggering an audible and visual alarm via a siren and a red rotating light to alert users.
• Interrupting the battery charging process to prevent the further accumulation of energy.
• Deactivation of active ventilation to prevent further spread of smoke or fire.
• Activation of the optional aerosol fire suppression system to contain the fire and ensure the safety of the surrounding area. The aerosol system must also be ordered!
• Overall, the charging cabinet offers a safe and reliable solution for charging and storing lithium-ion batteries for bikes and scooters, with its technical features and safety precautions minimizing potential risks.

General guidelines for battery storage

There are currently no legal regulations for the storage of lithium batteries / lithium-ion batteries. Only VdS Schadenverhütung GmbH issues general safety rules for damage prevention in its publication VdS 3103 : 2019-06 (03). It is advisable to clarify your requirements with your property insurance company in advance.
