Suitable filling material for the battery storage container

The appropriate filling material is required to use the PRIOPACK battery storage container. If you do not have any filling material, please order the variant "Incl. 2 x PRIOPACK filling material á 8 pieces". Further filling material can be found in the Accessories tab.

In buildings and storage facilities where lithium-ion batteries are stored, damaged cells can pose a high risk potential for employees and the operating and storage technology. Explosive fires in batteries ("thermal runaway") are difficult to control.

Please note that this system is not a hazardous goods packaging for the transportation of defective cells as defined in SV 376 of the ADR. This container is intended for storage.

Size, structure and function of the storage container

The PRIOPACK storage container is available in two versions. The smaller version has external dimensions of 400 x 300 x 233 mm and internal dimensions of 307 x 208 x 164 mm (height x width x depth). The weight is 8 kg. The container is gray.

90 min fire resistant

The storage container is made of plastic and is lined on the inside with fire-resistant construction panels and can therefore remain stable for 90 minutes in the event of a fire.

Stable lid

The lid can be firmly closed using a hinged lid and snap lock. It will not open even in the event of a fire.

With vermiculite cushion: An additional plus for safety

Vermiculite filler packs must be ordered separately for this container. We recommend 2 to 3 packs per box. Vermiculite is non-flammable and further reduces heat energy.
