Genius PyroBubbles® Premium extinguishing granules, pallet with 24 bags of 12.5 kg each

PyroBubbles® are a new type of extinguishing agent based on silicon dioxide. Silicon dioxide is also used in the manufacture of glass. The extinguishing granulate can exert its extinguishing effect excellently when conventional extinguishing agents such as water are no longer effective or would cause major damage. PyroBubbles® are also ideal in terms of environmental protection. Liquid fires can be extinguished quickly and easily without the risk of re-ignition and the granulate is less problematic for the environment than the use of water film-forming foam agents (AFFF), for example. PyroBubbles® are an excellent filling material for Genius transport and storage containers. The granulate is used in containers from the Lio Guard series. Please note: Active battery firefighting with Pyrobubbles requires a special fire protection concept.
The granules are supplied in bags. In this version, a pallet is shipped with 24 bags of extinguishing agent, each weighing 12.5 kg. PyroBubbles® are produced in two quality levels: Pure and Premium: for Premium, no recycled glass is used in the production process.

Properties of PyroBubbles®

PyroBubbles® have been positively tested by the MPA Dresen and are suitable for solid and liquid flammable substances of fire classes A, B, D and F. They are lighter than sand (approx. 235 kg / m³) and are therefore ideal as a filling material for the storage and transportation of lithium-ion batteries / lithium-ion rechargeable batteries in Genius transport and storage boxes. The average grain size is 0.5 to 5 mm. The extinguishing agent is water-repellent and age-resistant. Depending on the application, some of the PyroBubbles can be picked up and reused after use. In addition, the extinguishing agent is able to absorb electrolytes and is characterized by low thermal conductivity and electrical insulation.

Extinguishing effect of PyroBubbles®

PyroBubbles® are temperature-resistant up to a temperature of approx. 1050°C. In the event of a fire, the granules melt and form a closed and thermally insulating layer around the source of the fire, removing the oxygen. Combustible reaction gases are reduced thanks to the pores in the spheres. The high specific heat capacity absorbs heat energy and the temperature is reduced thanks to the cooling effect. Furthermore, combustible material is shielded by the low thermal conductivity PyroBubbles® are also suitable for extinguishing metal fires and liquid fires.
